I recently was in Vegas, as those of you who follow @practicalgirladventure already know…
This was my first time there and it was quite an experience! As everybody knows, tragedy struck about 2 weeks ago. My BF is extremely into following current events and asked all of our Uber drivers and anyone else he could find about it. Through the awfulness of it all, it was really neat to be there to see the community come together and help the victims. One night we went to the Foundation Room at the top of the Mandalay Bay. This is a really neat club/bar that you should visit if you get the chance. On our way out of the hotel, we came across about 20 golden retriever comfort dogs that were there to visit with the victims still in the hospital. These were the sweetest animals you have ever seen.
After the Foundation Room we went to see the Bellagio fountains. It was quite windy and we were waiting with probably 200 other people to see them go off. “I bet it’s going to be too windy” BF said… sure enough, not 2 seconds later, over the loudspeaker, “We are sorry, but due to high winds, we will not be doing the fountain show tonight.” Seriously?? Thankfully, I got to come back and see them before I left. I think the fountains were my favorite part of Vegas. I’m a serious sucker for fireworks or anything big and showy… and boy were they BIG and showy!
Another highlight of the trip was a party in the Omnia club in Caesar’s Palace. This nightclub was fantastic! There was an open, rooftop terrace along with a balcony overlooking the inside and some really cool lighting elements. The party I was there for had some burlesque dancers which did a nice job.
We managed to make it to a party the following night in the Wynn, which was by far my favorite hotel. They had big and beautiful decorations throughout, such as this hot air balloon made of flowers…
My final event of the trip was seeing O by Cirque De Solei. This was well worth the expense! The show was right on par with other Cirque shows, but involved a massive water tank. This allowed for some pretty spectacular tricks and illusions throughout. I highly recommend going to see the show if you get a chance and maybe win some money at the BlackJack table 😉
Speaking of gambling… I managed to make it out of the city, UP $50! Money towards the next adventure!
Stay classy,
-PG
